Rose of York is a 40’ x 6’ 11” timber Walton cruiser built in late 1960’s early 1970’s, featured in Waterways World 2005 article “boatbuilding on the BCN” showcasing traditional wooden boat builders J.L. Walton & Son as the last boat built by J.L. Walton & Son. Included with this vessel will be 4 ring binders absolutely packed with provenance, this includes receipts for extensive refit in 2010 at Bates Boatyard at which time the current engine and gearbox was installed to replace original Petter. As recently as April 2018 Rose of York had a very extensive Hull & Accommodation refit by T. Nielsen & Company (Traditional Shipbuilders and Riggers) at The Shipyard, Gloucester Docks costing £30,000. A catalogue of images showing step by step work completed to Rose of York will come as part of a comprehensive provenance pack.
Rose of York has been maintained to an exemplary standard by current owners during their last 15 years and indeed has only come back onto the market due to a bereavement.
Present maintenance / upgrade required to Rose of York, minor leak from bedroom window seal, new mattress required for pull out double bed, lounge needs to be furnished.
